visit storeThe people who collect honey from the Sundarbans are called Mowal. The honey collected, processed and packaged by the Mowals is known as Mowal Honey. Most of the natural honey of Bangladesh comes from the Sundarbans. The natural honey of the Sundarbans is much popular for its taste and quality. The Sundarbans Workers Honey Collectors Cooperative Society Ltd. has been formed with 60 honey collector families by the Japan Environmental Education Forum (JEEF) and Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) with the grant assistance for grassroots projects of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The male members of the society are collecting different flowers honey with risk for their time considering the Sundarbans ecosystem. The male and female members of the society are processing and packaging the collected honey in a proper hygienic way in their own Honey Processing Center. Now, they are marketing the honey of Keora, Bain and Khalsha flowers with attractive packaging with the approval of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI). This is the 100% pure and natural Mowal Honey.
